Comments
Comments: Great way to kick off the winter hiking season! The bike path had about 2-3 inches of snow over ice and has not been well consolidated yet. Once on the Liberty Springs Trail it was well packed with plenty of ice lurking below the thin snow cover, spikes were good. Several areas of mud and running water to navigate as well. Above the tent site the snow got a little deeper and hid most of the rock. Good snowshoeing from the tent site up to the ridge and all the way to Flume. A little boney on the approach the summit of Liberty for snowshoes but it is short-lived. Beautiful views and warmer temps made for a nice start to winter.
