Crossings today had solid routes across although I treaded softly because they were deep and strongly flowing. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Evidence of trail work; believe Adam is the one to thank. |

None seen today. I wouldn't trust my dogs with the current brook crossings. |

| Lost and Found: |
Hikers leaving right before me (slightly after 6:00) lost pair of gloves on Kanc short ways down from Lincoln Woods. |

Trails in fine condition today. Brutus BW goes up steep section in woods. Noticed a snowshoe path departing this route; that looked to rejoin up higher; which could possibly be a better option. Tracks also leaving the top on ridge and heading north from summit. I followed the tracks north until realizing I'd gone beyond summit. Back tracked and hit summit again. I look for the tree with WHOA scratched into it. Also noticed pile of branches across path leaving northward to let you know that's the end (wish I'd seen them earlier). Snowshoes recommended for the top ridge as there is more snow depth up there and warmer weather in forecast. Nice chatting with Rachel, Al and Rick; 3 of 5 summiters today; surprising low count. Nice day for the Owl! |
