Comments: We took the Little River Road in to 7 Dwarfs Motel parking lot. Walked the road and took the snowmobile trail up to the trailhead. Followed the North Twin trail until the river crossing and broke off there to the left and bushwacked on the old Fire Warden trail up to the summit. It was pretty easy going. Not much snow depth yet and it was light and fluffy. One of us barebooted, one snowshoed, the others spiked up. Not enough snow at the bottom to enjoy the snowshoeing since there were still alot of rocks just under the surface and quite a bit of slushy stream areas which caused the snow to clump onto our spikes. However, the snowshoes made things a bit easier and more efficient nearer the top where the snow got a little deeper and post-holing became a concern. It was a beautiful, warm day which ultimately made the light, fluffy snow in the morning turn heavier and sticky in the afternoon. With the upcoming warmer weather on its way, the trail will most likely become a slushy mess with more exposed ground. But as of today, the trail is now nicely tracked out and very easy to follow. Great trail. A nice alternative to the lengthy Zealand Road walk.
