Comments
Comments: Snow had an ice crust surface which made walking very noisy. At elevations around 3500 to 3800 feet there was an icy glaze to the surface. Snowshoes with good traction provide secure footing and flotation on the compacted snow track. Pine Bend Trail was well marked with yellow blazes. Generally very few branches extending in to the trailway. I could see evidence of use on the Scaur Ridge trail and the Mt Tripyramid trail toward the north slide. I saw no foot steps on the Sabbaday Brook Trail. The Mt Tripyramid trail heading south off Middle Tripyramid went over bare rocks so I don't know if it had been used of late. Surprisingly good views on this cloudy day especially from the east outlook on North Tripyramid (osbcure short side path through trees from summit).
