Parking lot was fine-not too icy-lots of pavement visible. I’m sure with tomorrow’s temps it will be even better. |

Trail is nicely packed-wore hillsounds from start to finish. I prefer North to South, which I did. Going up north was not an issue-there were plenty of foot placement options in the areas that had ice. The ridge between the two was nicely packed down. Going down south was a slide-I ended up just butt-sliding it because it was early morning and not many people out—if it was later I would have probably put crampons on to have better footing but that is just me—maybe spikes would have been just fine. There were 2 others out on the trail with me 6am-I hit north alone-met up with one on south and there were many trickling in on my exit. Beautiful start to Winter! |
