Wonderful day to grab these peaks for December! Official winter or not! We were surprised by the amount of snow on Valley Way and would have had to turn back if we didn’t have snowshoes as we ended up breaking trail. Once at the hut, Hillsounds worked fine to get up/down Madison and we kept them on all the way to Jewell trail (where I put snowshoes on about 1/4 mile down as the trail was really chewed up and kept them on to my car.....mostly cause I was too lazy to stop and take them off - I took the Jewell trail extension to Ammonoosuc ravine trailhead) Priscilla continued on to Washington and went down alongside the cog tracks. |
