Comments
Comments: Bottom Line: this route is well packed out for the first days of winter. Snowshoes are a must.

I wore snowshoes almost the entire way as even Lincoln Woods and Zealand Road were soft. The one place the shoes came off was going over Bondcliff, which is blown off. There is lots of bare ground and rock, as well as some hard blue ice. I barebooted this section, jumping from rock to rock in the icy areas as the long bare sections made traction or light traction undesirable. Guyot was bony too, but had more snow so the shoes stayed on. Hilary step has some ice, but was not bad with care in snowshoes. Some tricky icy sections near the top of West Bond and on the steep sections coming off of Zealand. I broke trail from West Bond Spur to Guyot, where I encountered a group of four traversing N-S. Thanks to those who broke the other sections of trail. Several groups were out, so the route should be very well packed for now.
