| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The usual parking area on the North side of the Kanc. opposite the TH is not plowed very well but there is not a lot of snow. No problem getting inside the white line. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Ice - Blue, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Open water at all but generally easy rock-hops with some caution. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Half a dozen blowdowns on the lower section of Pine Bend. All easy to get over/under.
Another half dozen along the ridge - also easy enough to deal with. 2 have paths around them. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Excellent trail conditions for canines. Some icy conditions on some of the steeper sections but fairly easy to avoid/get around. Crossings as good as could be expected - but none are bridged and a couple not so easy to get over without wet paws. |
