|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Mt. Passaconaway, NH|
||Dicey’s Mill Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Friday, December 20, 2019|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Ample at Ferncroft |
||Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts |
||Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||The crossing at the mill site can be done without walking the plank (log) at the moment. Care required on the icy rocks. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||Trail is in great shape with no blowdowns. |
|Lost and Found:
||Conditions were varied, generally not enough snow for snowshoes and adequate for spikes. Snowshoes would have been best for the section above the Camp Rich site with drifts and deeper powder and we churned it up a bit not wearing them but not badly. There is some ice under the snow in places. |
Person we talked to in the lot afterward indicated conditions were similar on Whiteface.
Lovely hike with Chris on a winter-cold fall day.
