The trail is in great condition. There are 2 large blowdowns that have been there for a while; they are easy to go around or over. |

It was a beautiful day to hike Hale. I followed one set of tracks on Zealand Rd and then broke out Hale Brook Trail. There's about 4-6" of dry, powdery snow. I used spikes on Zealand Rd. & at the start of Hale Brook. I switched to snowshoes after the first water crossing, mainly for the televators and to make a better tract for future hikers, & kept them on most of the way back on Zealand Road. |
