Parking lot was fine. Empty on arrival 5:30am, and one other couple with dogs I ran into on my exit. The lot is mostly just ice-I put traction on right out of the car (I'm the kinda person that falls in parking lots). |

 | Comments: |
I carry snowshoes, crampons, and spikes basically from Oct-May (I'm too lazy to unpack and repack and I like to have a very small margin of error while I'm out there with the ever changing conditions) but today I only used spikes (hillsounds) from the lot and back. There were sections before Bald Peak that were completely clear of ice/snow but it was sporadic and I preferred to keep them on. After Bald Peak snow amounts were definitely higher but the trail was well packed/solid with sections still of ice. Getting off the solid pack you will sink. No views today on both summits-chilly with high winds but I was there today to GRID both out--12/12 for North & South. |
