Comments
Comments: The trail is packing out nicely! Microspikes were appropriate for most of trail. Snowshoes were helpful on the ridge.
The steep section approaching the ridge is *very* slick. Ascending by kicking steps was necessary, couldn't help but slide down (which was a little hairy, tbh). Wondered if my crampons would have been good for descending that section. Regardless, not for the faint of heart.
On the ridge every 1/4 mi you change from wanting spikes or snowshoes-- just pick one.
A few inches of light snow fell Friday afternoon.
