The crossing of the Flume Cascade Brook is open but the water was minimal and easy to cross on rocks |

One major blowdown has been cleared recently. Two smaller blowdowns are easily passed by ducking under |

The top third of the trail was quite icy but I am sure dogs could handle it |

| Comments: |
The lower half of the trail was a bit soft but it still carried me without postholing. It was good practice for balance and agility. Past the split to Webster the trail - monorail - became icy and I put on the microspikes. Some might prefer crampons. The summit cone has blue ice but enough bare rocks to get up safely without crampons. Summit was in the clouds with strong, gusty winds and spitting snow. |
