A pretty hike through fresh snow. Care is needed with foot placement at the ledges and rocky parts approaching the summit. The new snow covered a layer of ice which in turn covered the steeper rocks, resulting in hidden slippery sections. We both took a tumble due to slipping on hidden ice. Otherwise, a lovely hike in the snow. I wore spikes but Dave didn't. They clogged up with ice in the wet parts of the trail so it's a personal choice. Snowshoes neither needed nor recommended as of today. |
