I wore my snowshoes all day. Started out with bare boots but didn't go very far before I put on the shoes. To stop from postholing and also for the traction. there is a short section just after the trail turns right and crosses the brook that has some bare ground. But it doesn't last very long and you are back in the snow. You really need to be on the high point to stay afloat. the section up to the summit was a little like walking on a balance beam. Beautiful day to be out. |
