Comments
Comments: Squeezed this in between commitments today and very glad I did. Greenleaf has seen limited travel, as per winter conditions usual, and I only saw one previous set of tracks in the pass itself (though deeper drifting there may have covered others beyond). Nice grippy snow today and the start of a treadway up to the pass, but not well-consolidated. I barebooted happily in both directions; there were spots where spikes would have been handy for about 3 steps at a time, but it was a question of convenience rather than safety (today), so mine stayed on my pack. I’m not sure I’d venture into the pass during full-on winter for fear of falling ice on the immediately adjacent rockface, but nothing to worry about today and very cool to see one of my favorite places dressed up for the season!
