Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: People parked pretty dumb today and resulted in multiple people getting stuck (leaving zero room in between each car). The road is basically an ice sheet, so tough to get traction. We had to actually leave a car and come back and get it because we couldn't get it out. Bring some sand or kitty litter with you

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Three or four blowdowns between carriage and snapper. With some more snow pack, these will be an issue, especially for skiers. Saw seemed sufficient

Comments
Comments: Complete no nonsense day. Zero views from summit but the journey was fun. Ascended via Snapper and Carriage Road. Snowshoes went on from 3800 on carriage road and where required to the Summit of Moose. 6-12" of unpacked powder, 3' drifts along the ridge between S Peak and Moose proper. Enough people where on Gorge Brook today to track it out, so if you plan on going out and back from Gorge Brook, you shouldn't have too many issues (but you still should have your snowshes). If you are going to loop it, you will need snowshoes unless you want to post hole like a champ. I broke/laid first tracks. No one else went from S to Moose. less than cairn to cairn vis today and a strong breeze.
