Comments
Comments: I did not put on microspikes until I got to the ledges but now realize doing so earlier would have made the hike easier. There were several areas of packed down snow and ice interspersed with rocks that were slippery. There was black ice on the ledges approaching the summit requiring care with footing. The views from the fire tower were spectacular. The fire tower is enclosed, un-manned, immaculately maintained and hikers are allowed to camp inside. Wow! I had no idea. No fires at or around the fire tower, though, as it is a protected forest area.
