Consistent snow/ice cover made for good micro spike conditions. I briefly would have wanted snowshoes on the bushwhack and they may have been practical on Isolation Trail. Some sections of breakable ice with water underneath. Today I don't think snowshoes would have been worth the weight, but it wont take much more for them to be a good idea. Bushwhack route was tracked out with one route running high and another staying low. I did follow the high route for a bit, but jumped off as it seemed higher than I wanted to go. On the way back I used the lower route, which seemed to become the norm among the small number of hikers out today. Good day for Isolation. |
