Comments
Comments: livermore trail packed well until left turn off of groomed track. then semi packed narrow track. real soft snow so lots of sinking in even with snowshoes. on the way in we used the "short cut" at the north loop junction to join scaur ridge trail a couple tenths in. scaur ridge trail broken, but snow was quite soft. a bit firmer broken track on the ridge over the peaks. real nice conditions on the steeps with all ledges fully buried and good grippy snow. on the descent everything softened up as expected and it was even slushy in spots down low. pinebend brook trail heading towards the kanc didn't look to have been used recently.
wore snowshoes the whole hike. if we get a good freeze some may want crampons for better grip on the steeps.
spring has come to the mountains. shorts got to come out for the first time this season. nice views from the deep snow on the ridge and a real nice look from the drop down outlook on north peak. thanks to cynthia for a great hike.
