Mt Pemi is an easy 3 miles round trip. There is maybe an inch of snow on the trail itself with some icy spots.
This was an attempt for Isis and myself because Isis decided that she had had enough about a half mile from the summit and just laid down. Know your dogs limits as well as your own. Different dogs react to different conditions. It’s up to the owner to put the breaks on sometimes.
Isis is a pretty experienced trail dog but, as she ages, her tolerance for really cold trails goes down. We’ll be back to hike again next weekend if conditions are good. |
