Comments
Comments: Mostly complete snow cover on this entire loop. The summit clearing of Faraway, the highest point of this trek, had drifts of 4 to 6 in. but everywhere else, including the ridge, was no more than 3 in. A couple of icy spots on MRT that can be avoided. I carried spikes but never felt the need to use them. No one in the parking lot when I arrived and I only saw one other person on trail. Excellent views as always from the open south ridge of Roberts. Cold, but not too windy and comfortable with the bright sun.

In retrospect, I probably should have just come back via MRT. It's been several years since I'd done this loop and kinda forgot 3/4 of it is along carriage road trails. The walking is very easy, but the distance adds up due to the miles of switchbacks.

Pretty quiet out here today. Lots of critter tracks sighted, including moose, deer and turkey.
