I recommended light traction, because this time of year should always be in your pack, but we bare booted the entire trip. The trace of crusty snow in lower elevations made for excellent footing and in upper elevation the ladders and rocks would have been more unsafe with snowshoes. I cleaned off all ladder rungs. We had about an inch of new snow during the day
Chill Factor on summit was well below zero |
