| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We parked at the junction of Orange Road on Sculptured Rocks Road. I could have driven my Subaru up quite a bit further... but given the frozen snow on the road, it felt prudent to park down low. |

Walked up Orange Road. In pursuit of a geocache, we turned onto Kimball Hill Road (1600' ish) heading towards a lone grave in a small cemetary. Took a bearing for the summit from there, heading up through open woods. As the terrain got "cliffy" and steep, we beared to the left (SW), aiming for the peak's SE shoulder. Tiny fir band near the top.. but super short lived. Summit canister in good shape; woods kind of open at the top. For the descent, we walked down the SE shoulder until we hit the main road, which brought us to our car.
There was a couple of inches of crusty snow. I put on Microspikes as the terrain got steep, but my friends barebooted. LOTS of animal tracks today: bear, coyote, deer, snowshoe hare.
About 6.5 miles with our side trip; +1700'
Fun hike with JEM3 and Fran.
