Lost and Found: One black fleece glove was stuck on a spruce branch stub in the lower flat sections, so we left it there.

Comments
Comments: This was one of those odd days when it seemed one could use any footwear (or buttwear on S. Hancock's section) without postholing or lost traction, and the warm sun would erase any signs of one's passage. There were places where the snow would ball badly up on microspikes or snowshoes. We also saw ski tracks past the South Hancock terminus. My guess is a fair amount more of warm sun would soon make snowshoes the footwear of choice. Georg shussed down the South Hancock section; that guy could ski down the Capitol steps in crampons with a little snow. We ran into two guys in shoes walking in with the intent of seeing the bridge; we suggested that wasn't a good idea. We only saw one group of 3 the whole day. There is so much snow up high that we had some very nice views from several places that have none or are highly obstructed in the summer. Great Spring hike with great companions.
