Comments: Lovely day! Adam M. walked out with us to the Osseo trailhead on his way to do trail work. The beginning of the Oseeso Trail is wet and requires getting off trail to avoid water. The bare woods and the morning sunshine lit up the peaks above us and the view delighted us. A few blow downs need some saw work to remove. Every water bar needs clearing and most are no longer functioning in their current state. We began our bushwhack to the East Peak near the col at the second switchback. We hit mostly decent woods, found go way to go up through a boulder area, enjoyed a few outlooks along the way and the recognized summit had a splendid outlook. We hung out here for quite a while and enjoy the sunshine. Whacked back about the same way, saw little scat-just some very old bear poo. Whack took less than 20 minutes each way.
Vista was clear and far from Downlook and the southern viewpoint at the top of the stairs on the Osseo Trail. On Flume's summit were a handful of people that had arrived via Flume Slide Trail. One solo gal was teary eyed while announcing her 48 finish! A group of 4 that we had passed on our way up before our bushwhack arrived just while we were heading back down. Great views and we were surprised to see Mt. Washington was brown! Good trip back down the mountain and we were happy that there was little frost/ice on the trail and the ladders were free from that cold slippery stuff.
