Webster Slide Trail was bone dry and much less difficult than I thought it might be, which was a pleasant surprise. On the way in I easily spotted the old AT just before the minor climbing along the base of Webster Slide begins. It was especially easy since the pond was close and in sight with bare trees/undergrowth. The trail was easy to follow along the pond and quickly meets the end of the spur trail at a clearing on the shore. I found this to be a really pleasant way to avoid a little bit of repetition later in the day, with a few extra views of the pond along this old route. |
