 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Big gravel lot near the Snow's Mountain Ski Area, across the street from the Osceola Library. There are no signs on the side of the road, but you'll see the chairlift and know you're there. I would read the description in the WMG before doing this one. Make sure to pay attention to the part about the north end of the trail ends.

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Tiny, tiny, tiny one on the South side, bigger but still easy one on the North. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There is a big blowdown on the north side, a fallen tree with its many limbs. Walked around it. There is an area where the south side parallels what looks like an old road (now a cc ski trail); thank you to trail maintainers for putting up that bright yellow sign, it will certainly help the confused (not us, we had read the description in the WMG before starting) to stay on the right trail.
Some areas the blazes are bright and frequent, other areas are faded, others not too many. If you lose the trail easily, this may not be a good time for this.

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw 4 happy ones with their ladies coming down the ski slope. Should be good; bring water and watch the scenic overlooks. Disclaimer - don't know what Waterville Valley's dog rules are. |
|
 | Bugs: |
Two grasshoppers on the ski slope, one flying bug at the overlook (not a biter), a couple strands from our friendly spider community. |
|
 | Lost and Found: |
Me - for about two minutes on the leafy path. |

Please read the WMG description before doing this one. It will make your trip to the trailhead easier - both in driving to it and walking back to it. And the trail does require some care to follow in some sections, particularly when all the leaves are down.
That said, I would highly recommend doing this trail during stick season! Everywhere you look (except for the evergreen sections) there are great views of nearby mountains obstructed only by bare branches. Very pleasant woods walk for the most part.
When you get to the junction of north/south, there is a spur leading to a slightly obstructed view of Sandwich mtn. Further down there is a great view of Waterville Valley and Tecumseh. Take your pick - sit and enjoy a slightly obstructed view with NO sign of civilization (other than a road) or clear wide open Waterville Valley or take your time and hang out at both.
Paid good attention to the description except for the end. Trail comes out the driveway at 76 Snows Mountain rd. Because I was negligent, I didn't go up the road like the book says. We went on an unmarked path and ended up at the golf course, walked out to the road, and some nice folks drove us back to the lot (a few minutes away). They had just visited South Tripyramid.
Thanks to many people -1.write up in the WMG 2. Trail Maintainers. 3 Ladies with the dogs who assured us we were in the right place and direction 4. South Tripyramid folks. |
