| Comments: |
The skies cleared as forecasted today (first blue sky in days) and the high winds subsided just before sunset, as forecasted. Storm hit the state hard, so expect blowdowns and high water crossings tomorrow.
The initial part of the trail was dry, however there were areas of running water even prior to the first water crossing. Between the crossings was okay. Above the top crossing was wet and slippery with long stretches of water running down the trail.
Though there was a slight ground frost at the summit, I encountered no snow or ice this afternoon/evening. I did note some white in the upper elevations of the Franconia Ridge and Presidentials. |
