 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Blowdown midway on the Loop Trail could prove burdensome for tourists. Could be climbed over or crawled under, unless you have a large pack filled with toddler-then it is a forced quick off trail walk-around. Two large blowdowns on the upper Georgiana Falls Path. One was a walk-over, the other had to be walked around. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Easy trails for dogs-just make sure they don't fall off any cliffs or waterfalls, the latter of which would result in a pretty quick and gnarly death. Fin had a grand old time |

Cobble Hill Trail, Bald Mountain , Artist Bluff Path, Loop Trail, Georgiana Falls Path
Cobble Hill-Be careful on the Cobble Hill Trail-dying of boredom is quite possible. It is a two-mile,straight logging road with no cool features that leads to nothing except an invisible boundary line. Yes, there are some stone walls and an old foundation or two-big whoop. You can pretty can't walk 5 minutes in the NH woods without seeing some old stone walls. If you are a red-liner who likes X-C skiing and doesn't mind a 700' uphill slog, then I recommend skiing it, the descent would be fun.
Artist Bluff Loop-Now I see what all the fuss is about. What a fun little hike with spectacular views. Only saw a few people. Fin and I had a nice howling session on The Bluff to alarm the families by the lake to our presence.
Georgiana Falls-this thing was SOAKED and covered with slippery leaves, I would recommend NOT carrying your child past the lower falls unless it is dry, which I doubt it ever is. Or unless you are extremely confident in your hiking abilities. The falls were all raging and quite impressive. Immediately after the lower falls the trail is extremely difficult to discern with all the leaves; however, higher up as it becomes steeper and rougher the blazes are more present and the path is much easier to follow. Much steeper and rougher than expected. 5 trails redlined on a beautiful October day. Also, GH pizza in Lincoln was really tasty-Margaret and I strongly recommend this place. An entire pizza was just what this guy needed to carry her ass up the steep falls to end the day. |
