Great! Blazes are really helpful this time of year as the many leaves obscure the path, especially in the wide open areas where it is not so obvious. Thanks! |

Dogs must be leashed in the state park area of the trail. |

None, but with the mild weather and many leaves, ticks could be an issue. We had none. |

Nice hike for when you don't have a lot of time. Had a commitment in Nashua first, this was less than an hour away. A good way up Pack Monadnock for those who want to avoid crowds and fees (as of this writing, the park is $4.00 per person, which is good seeing the nice facilities on the summit). Very pretty woods walk, never really steep or challenging until almost the top, then there is a lot of rock climbing. Another plus to this side is water - there is a small bridge over a stream and then a portion of the trail goes along the stream. Close to the top there is an opening giving a great view of Monadnock. Upon reaching the top, there is an area for bird watching. Here there is a great view of North Pack Monadnock.
If we lived here I'd probably do this several times a month. |
