Trails
Trails: Coot Trail, Bobcat Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Saturday, October 26, 2019
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Tower road is not a great road. I drove it at 2-7 mph to try to avoid all the rocks sticking up and potholes. Parking is no problem and there is an outhouse there.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Leaves - Significant/Slippery

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lots of blowdowns on Bobcat Trail, many of which looked very recent as there were not obvious go around places and getting around them is quite difficult. The "easiest" go around spot for one of them is over the stump which sticks up out of the earth and has a 5-10' open drop below it.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw 2 having a great hike.

Comments
Comments: The Coot trail is steep for the major part but then gets a little gentler closer to the top. Views from the tower were spectacular today even though we thought we would be in the clouds. Tower did not have any ice on it. The cliff walk was equally spectacular- probably my favorite part- don't get too close though. It's a long way down. Going down Bobcat was challenging in spots due to several blowdowns. A couple of them had walk around areas, but several looked very recent and were difficult to get over/around. Bobcat is wetter down lower.
