Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Several easy crossings on the Skookumchuck Trail.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few trees down across the Skookumchuck Trail that were step over, duck under or walk around. Many broken branches on the trail, I was able to throw off most. I also opened up a few waterbars with my heel and hiking stick.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw 3 today.
Bugs: None.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.
Comments: A great day to be above tree line with temps from 30 to 60 and clear blue sky and a light breeze at times. The snow from last week had thawed and refrozen several times over recent days and was slippery on the shady and north side of the ridge. Microspikes helped to get traction. The trail south of Lafayette to Little Haystack was easy going with dry rocks and dirt and soft snow. Saw about 40 people today and 3 dogs.
