 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
People are clueless how to park in this small trailhead lot; one car always takes up at least three spaces. There are also some wide parts of Bear Notch Road above and below the trailhead that could be used to park. |

Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Leaves - Significant/Slippery |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Attitash Trail could use some brushing nearer Table summit. Met B.K. headed up to do trail work, thank you. Also maybe find this hard to believe but we think people missed the left hand turn away from the brook up the Attitash Trail and continued straight up the muddy fading forest road along the bank of the brook before abandoning their hike. There is no arrow or blaze where the trail obviously turns away from the brook but some people can't see obvious. |

Another stab at another John Compton's Greatest hits (https://1happyhiker.blogspot.com/2011/06/loop-hike-table-mountain-bear-notch.html) and we recently saw some photos posted from Table Mt. so we decided to get after it. For our Table Mountain loop we did the bushwhack to the ledge first, heading left into the woods just before the first small water crossing and staying on the ridge. When we reached the elevation where we knew the ledge to be we saw a bright area to our right and we found it. We walked all around the steep bare granite. We had a nice view from the top looking north at a bright white Mt. Washington and nice view of Tremont and the Bartlett Haystack peaks. We climbed steeply through mostly decent woods with the occasional push through some short patches of tight matchsticks we found the flatish summit. We didn't find any other viewpoints but did find the highpoint tree and the short steep herdpath down to the Attitash Trail. We followed the trail east a few minutes to reach the view ledge with the fine views of the Moats and Big Attitash and more. Here we ate lunch in the sun. We headed back west and enjoyed Table's big ledges and views. We descended to the col and then bushwhacked to East Bear. We headed up and we hunted for a view and we found a nice piece of ledge that gave us views directly down to Falls Pond/Rocky Gorge/the Kanc. from there we found the recognized summit in less than five minutes. We headed back down to the col more to the west and found the going a bit tighter. We headed back down the Attitash Trail and we ran into BK off for an overnight and trailwork, thank you. We met a few more people headed up too. Good fun day. |
