Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Magalloway Rd has a few potholes in the first mile off Rt 3, but no problem. Tower Rd was a bit rough in places for the first mile, then fine. Had to pass 6-7 vehicles on the way in and out, but never a problem. One spruce down across the road but easy drive around.

Comments
Comments: Lots of rain the day or two before, as the trail was very wet with slippery leaves. No mud to speak of. Snow in the woods above about 3000 ft, some trace on top. The tower steps were iced over. You could break it by hitting a few times with your heel, but I decided not to climb it, as it was grey and overcast as well. The side trail down to the first and second eastern slope lookouts was clear. Great views from there.
