| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Saw needed on Carriage Trail for sizable spruce about a half mile from Snapper Junction. Close to Snapper Junction on Carriage a Big Spruce snapped in half and is hanging over trail. A bit shady to walk under with the wind today. Another smaller spruce blocking Snapper Trail about halfway between Carriage and Gorge Brook.
Lots of debris elsewhere. Picked up some here and there. Plenty left for the next 50 hikers. |

Icy wonderland from about 4400'(ish) to the top. Wind was ripping at summit and on walk to South Peak, especially when out in the open. Brought winter outer garments and was glad I did. Full on winter at the peak today. If not sure footed might want micros - steady and careful though shouldn't have too much of an issue. Once off top usual fall hiking with perfect temps. Missed the views but glad to be out for a few hours |
