Comments
Comments: I did a loop starting and ending at Old Man Viewing. Rock Climber's herd path is ok and bushwhack from the old helicopter pad to the view ledge off of KRT is rather difficult and luckily it isn't too long a distance, as many times as I have done this I still haven't found a good route. Clouds lifted as I reached the site of the Old Man's Head, nice views of the Eagle Cliff, the Franconia Range and all the traffic on I-93. Lots of people sitting on the view ledge and I met dozens more headed up and headed down on the KRT. So many people trying to go up and down Cannon's observation tower I rather felt badly for the crowd. I walked around the tower and headed down Taft ski trail to head to Mittersill. Met two men on top of Mittersill that had come all the way up the Tucker Brook Trail, they told me it wasn't easy walking it. Only sign up Mittersill Trail is yellow blazes painted on ledge. I walked road and work road west of Echo Lake and past Park Headquarters. Helped a lost person that was holding a State Park Map find Artist Bluff. The line for the Tram stretched from the building all the way to the parking lot. Happy leaf peeping!
