Comments
Comments: Continued walking up the ATV road to a clearing. Stay to the right and near the top of the clearing you will see a pathway which seems to be the old Sinclair Trail. We kept on the trail until we had gone a total of .8 miles (ATV road + trail). Here we took a heading toward the peak and started our bushwhack. Pretty clear woods. Crossed a the trail we had used to descend from the AT a few days ago. Continued slabbing towards the first bump of Trident Mountain. Came to a marshy area and a steep cliff face. We were able to find a way up and continued towards the top of the first bump. Woods became very thick spruce near the top after which we were able to find a clearer path towards the summit of Trident. Along the way popped out on some amazing ledges with views of Berlin and beyond! Continued a gradual ascent through much clearer woods to the summit jar. Nice view towards Bald Cap through a break in the trees. Took a more direct heading down to avoid the thick spruce and managed to stay in fairly clear woods although did have to walk along a cliff face at one point before finding an easier descent. Came out further into the marshy area beyond Page Pond, skirted along the cliff edge of Trident then descended through clear woods to the ATV road about .2 miles below where we had entered.
