| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Most of the trails were great. Shoal pond is a wilderness trail but I do believe maintenance is done if there are lots of difficult downed trees. I was running the trail and found there to be downed tree after downed tree, I lost count there were so many on the first half. Lots were bunched closely together. Some were leapable with poles, others it took effort to go over and it was more of an agility workout than a run. I still kept up a good pace and it was definitely passable so if that is all that matters the trail was great. Not sure what it would be like from a hikers perspective but feel it would also be difficult for them, maybe more so because its harder to leap. But it was a beautiful trail nonetheless. |
