Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Had a late start, parked on the road. We've used that lot before; a good one with lots of room and a nice out house.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Couple of rock hops. Many dry beds, not sure how they'd be in the spring.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: WOW!!! With the exception of three blow downs on Eagle Cascade Link, there were no blow downs. Signs were good, too. Thank you CTA.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Watch the ledges and bring water. And (I know its not any of you) don't leave your dog s@#t bag in the middle of the trail. Saw two big dogs enjoying their descent.
Bugs
Bugs: One of two skeeters, hopefully not from MA. Many lovely flying grasshoppers above treeline (love the sound their wings make).

Comments: Baldface Circle (North end), Bicknell Ridge Trail, Eagle Cascade Link

There is logging near the lower part of Baldface Circle, reminded me of going to South Moat. The trail briefly passes through and is not difficult to follow. Probably very few people go UP this part, as they do the Baldies clockwise (as to avoid descending the South ledges). We were doing a loop of this portion, along with Bicknell Ridge and Eagle cascade link. If you are thinking of this, definitely go up this way, because the descent of Bicknell is one of my favorites, due to the many views. It was even better than when we were on Bicknell before, due to the maples starting to turn.
Baldface Circle was a pleasant ascent, not difficult, just slightly so near the top with the steep ledges. There is a very pretty ferny glade just before this.
The .3 mile portion to the Bicknell Trail is a pleasant blend of stellar views and a dip into the woods, after which you emerge into a huge open space of blueberry bushes which have turned red.
Spent a good time relaxing at the junction, but eventually made our way down knowing the headlamps would probably be necessary (and they were, less than a mile from the trail head).
We took Eagle Cascade Link, mainly for redlining. It's a pretty trail, but save it for the spring run-off. It's totally dry right now. We'll be going back.
