Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Mix of bridge remnant and capped rocks. Water levels are low so these are no problem with care.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No serious blowdowns or wet spots. On the hike up in the upper sections many branches needed the snow knocked off them as they extended into the trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Great day for 5 dogs: Pepper, Cinnilla, Cody (sp?), Peyton and Sarah. Pepper developed a fair number of iceballs on his legs in the upper sections but it didn't seem to bother him and the others had no problems. What a nice group of dogs.

Comments
Comments: Trail down low icy with little new snow. Around 2500' I noticed there was now several inches of powdery snow and the depth kept increasing with elevation to 8" or so new snow; hard to tell with the drifting. We took turns breaking trail. The very top was bare rock. On the hike down the trail was broken high but more drifting was likely; while lower it was sticky and from use well packed, and down low it was thin and soft. We had a nice group of hikers helping Georg get his first of many peaks to finish his April Grid. Met one other group which included recent Grid finisher Marcotte. It was a bit windy on top, but the views were great and overall it was a great winter snowshoe in Spring.
