Continued a short ways up Gilman Valley Road past the gate to a slightly overgrown snowmobile road ( a dotted line on the topo map). Followed this until it joined a wider snowmobile road, turning left and continuing to follow the dotted line on the map Nice walking for quite a ways, crossed one bridge then just before a double bridge there was another overgrown snowmobile road to the right, continuing on that dotted line. We continued to follow the snowmobile well beyond the end of the dotted line on the map, checking at each intersection as to which one was heading towards the summit. After taking a snowmobile road that just ended at the woods, we took a heading directly to the summit. This resulted in some pretty steep climbing but we eventually reached a bump and much flatter ground. We got to the coordinates on our Gaia app and found a small cairn but no jar. After exploring the immediate area for anything higher with a jar, we found nothing! So we hung a new jar on the tree next to the small cairn. If this is wrong, feel free to move it. We signed in then took a heading back toward the road which ended up even steeper than our ascent but brought us to yet another overgrown snowmobile road which brought us to the wide cleared snowmobile road a little further down from where we had started out bushwhack. A nice cruise back to the car. |
