| | Date of Hike: | Thursday, September 5, 2019 | | | | | Parking/Access Road Notes: | Technically it's still summer, but you can tell it's after Labor Day. | | | | | Surface Conditions: | Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant | | | | | Recommended Equipment: | | | | | | Water Crossing Notes: | None of any significance. Crossing by Silver Cascade was trivial. | | | | | Trail Maintenance Notes: | Trail was overall in fine shape. Some puncheon that will need replacing before too much longer, but all of it is at least functional, if not pristine. | | | | | Dog-Related Notes: | Plenty of pups on the trail, all having the best days of their lives. | | | | | Bugs: | | | | | | Lost and Found: | | | |

| | | | Comments: | It was a fine day to be out. Last time I did Webster-Jackson-Pierce, there was fog for much of the day, so this was a treat. I could finally see Washington! I was especially happy for the AT thru-hikers who had a very memorable time for their traverse of the Presidentials. The views were endless, the weather perfect.
Watch out for the mud. There was one spot, I think between Jackson and Pierce, where the mud was easily shin deep.
