|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Mt. Webster, Mt. Jackson, Mt. Pierce, Mt. Eisenhower, NH|
||Webster-Jackson Trail, Webster Cliff Trail, Crawford Path|
|Date of Hike:
||Thursday, September 5, 2019|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Technically it's still summer, but you can tell it's after Labor Day. |
||Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||None of any significance. Crossing by Silver Cascade was trivial. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||Trail was overall in fine shape. Some puncheon that will need replacing before too much longer, but all of it is at least functional, if not pristine. |
||Plenty of pups on the trail, all having the best days of their lives. |
|Lost and Found:
||It was a fine day to be out. Last time I did Webster-Jackson-Pierce, there was fog for much of the day, so this was a treat. I could finally see Washington! I was especially happy for the AT thru-hikers who had a very memorable time for their traverse of the Presidentials. The views were endless, the weather perfect. |
Watch out for the mud. There was one spot, I think between Jackson and Pierce, where the mud was easily shin deep.
Photos and a more detailed write-up are on my blog.
