Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The "hidden" trails on Major are interesting finds. Rock Cave Trail was fairly straightforward, but I didn't see any cave. Crosscut Saw Trail is very difficult to follow above the saw, with no footbed, but it gets a bit better higher up. Bay View only needs a little bit of work and it could be an official route, it's in great shape and located well. No issues on any of the official trails besides the ongoing erosion trench on Mt. Major Trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure.
Bugs
Bugs: Nope.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I found the saw. However, it's simply nailed to a tree. The tree isn't growing around it as the Dave Roberts map states.

Comments
Comments: I rarely hike Major in summer, but this is a good loop to avoid the crowds. The summit was busy, but not hectic. Nice cool breeze up top. Along the unofficial trails, I only saw one person on Bay View.
