Bugs
Bugs: The beginning fo the trail is on private property and so not maintained as well as the USFS trails later in the hike. They are totally hikable but you go through some tall grass which would be prime tick zone. I recommend permethrin. We didn't notice mosquitoes much but we were wearing permethrin clothes. There were a few friendly wasps along the way, a little too friendly near the top.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing, very clean trail

Comments
Comments: The trail across private property is not as well maintained as most of the White Mountain trails. It had quite a bit of grass and plants growing in, including prickly raspberry bushes so I recommend long pants. Given the description in the guidebook I thought it might be harder to navigate but you can tell which trail is more well-trodden than the others over the private property area. I could see how the trail could be more difficult to navigate in the winter but the footway is obvious in the plants.

Once you crossed the property boundary into the WMNF Wilderness area the trail was very well maintained. One small blowdown of about 5 inches was avoidable.

Langdon Trail Shelter is being removed by the Forest Service soon. The floorboards were soft and some beams rotted out. I can see why they're removing it but it is unfortunate to see one of the last CCC Adirondack Shelters being removed from the Whites - I feel lucky to have slept in it!

The trail was generally very dry, a little leafy and in good shape. Views of Mount Washington from Mount Parker were great on this clear day!
It was Labor Day weekend and we saw no one on our overnight trip except for a dog-walker right at the trailhead. Not a very crowded area if you're looking for a hike with a good view!
