Walked down the road to the power line swath. The access road is signed as No Trespassing. However, the sign is on the ground leaning up against the gate post and is almost totally hidden by the grass. If you didn't know it was there, you would miss it. Also, as Amy mentioned in a long ago post, there is no information as to how to get permission. Anyway, the power line swath is thickly overgrown for about the first half of the climb. We jumped in the woods for part of the way, although that was only a bit clearer. We came to a split in the powerline about halfway up. Later discovered that the left fork will take you to the access road while the right fork continues directly to the summit. We went straight. The woods and the power line swath both became a lot less overgrown as we neared the summit. Once at the top, the highpoint appears to be a bump between the two outbuildings and towers. Must admit, we descended using the access road. Very short hike but it still counts as one of the 500! |
