Alongside the Kancamagus Highway. Lots of vehicles today. It would be nice to have an off road lot for this trailhead. |

|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All brooks are easily crossed as water levels are low |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Many tree falls before entering the Wilderness Area on Pine Bend trail. None posed any difficulties. Just downhill from the Pine Bend - Scaur Ridge junction is a duck under tree fall that is about a foot in Diameter. On the ridge between Scaur Ridge and the cone of North Tripyramid is a tree anout 7 to 8 feet above ground which is about a foot in diameter. The bog bridges on Pine Bend that are one log wide are deteriorating and require good balance. Some eroded trail sections at higher elevations. |

 | Comments: |
The surfaces were dry which was good for footing on the ledge areas on the cone of North Tripyramid. By-passes exist around the worst ledge sections when conditions are wetter or icy.
Some views from both summits.
Met lots of hikers today. All trail approaches were used. Had a nice chat with three Northeastern Univ students on North Tripyramid. |
