Limited roadside parking at the Big Pines Natural Area sign on 113A in Hemenway State Forest in Tamworth. Ours was the only vehicle there this morning. |

Nice bridge over the Swift River, near the Trailhead. |

Some blowdowns on Peg King Spur and east half of Betty Steele loop, but easily gotten around. In general, trails are in fine shape. |

 | Comments: |
Unlike nearby Green Mountain Fire Tower, this Tower still has unimpeded views in all directions, abetted by view profiles on all four sides of the Tower cabin. You pass through beautiful old white pine groves on the way up, and some of them are very big indeed. A great little hike. |
