Comments
Comments: This is a rugged little loop. Blueberry Ledges is great, very steep in the middle section, with some slab to climb in the latter part. Views are fantastic once you hit the slab. After the rocky steepness of Blueberry Ledges, Rollins Trail is a treat. Relatively flat with mostly dirt/mud and good footing. Most of the mud was avoidable, and where it wasn't it wasn't deep. Dicey's Mill to the summit is rocky and steep. View spur is very rooty, but not particularly steep and the view is nice. Don't sleep on Walden Trail, it is steep and rocky, with tough footing. The 1.2 miles between the jct with Square Ledge Trail and Wonalancet Range Trail was as tough a mile as I've hiked, with a steep climb up a knob, with a very steep descent down, followed immediately by another steep climb to the next knob. Reminded me of the Cannonballs a little bit. Wonalancet Range Trail is mostly good footing and a pleasant walk, but the ascent and descent of Wonalancet was more rugged than I had anticipated. I only saw 3 people after I left the viewpoint on Passaconaway, all near the end of Wonalancet. Really enjoyed this loop, as I got some solitude and views until right near the end.
