Took standard approach, which is to hike Bolles Tr. to HOL, then follow a westerly course, hiking the ridgeline up to the peak. As others have mentioned, it was initially steep, and when it leveled, it was scrappy.. with some "walking on down'd trees'... not much fun. Found the canister in an open area on the top with sheltered views towards Chocorua.
Had a MUCH better line on the way out. Stayed just to the left, or north, of the ridge line. Didn't hit any "pick up sticks" to walk on top of, and the woods were MUCH better and less scrappy. |
